Craviotto IN ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS

This incredible Craviotto bop kit will shortly be on its way to Abbey Road Studios in London, to producer Roberto Tini.

This is a very unique Craviotto Private Reserve solid shell drum set. The Craviotto team crafted this unique kit using 8 different species of wood, and the blend of wood species for each drum is intended to make the kit sonically balanced, as well as striking to look at. The 5.5x14 snare drum is ash/poplar. The 8x12 is curly maple/cherry. The 14x14 is birdseye maple/mahogany. The 14x18 bass drum is ambrosia maple/walnut. Edges are 45/45.

One of the Craviotto craftsmen hand picked the poplar board used on the snare drum. This one poplar board starts out with its natural light color and gradually darkens to a rich brown. At the seam you can see the contrast. This is all Mother Nature at work. No fancy stains. Speaking of Mother Nature, check out the Ambrosia Maple on the bass drum.

Ambrosia Maple is a very cool wood that has striations of color in it, and some very tiny holes. These very small holes are caused by a dung beetle that lives in these trees, and the striations are actually caused by the excrement from these beetles. As a result, every piece of Ambrosia Maple is visually different. So cool.

Sonically, the set sounds wonderful. And now, the set can lend it’s sound to recordings in one of the world’s greatest recording studios!

EXCITING NEWS FROM THE CRAVIOTTO DRUM COMPANY

We’re thrilled to share that The Craviotto Drum Company will soon

unveil The Craviotto Experience — a world-class, 1,200-square-foot showroom located at our Nashville headquarters.

This immersive space will showcase dozens of Craviotto snare drums and drum sets, representing a wide range of wood species, finishes, and hardware configurations. Visitors will have the opportunity to see, play, and compare these instruments up close — an experience designed for both dealers and consumers alike.

To support our valued dealer network, any showroom sale made directly to a consumer will still honor full dealer margins, with proceeds credited to the Craviotto dealer nearest the buyer’s home. This ensures that every purchase enhances the Craviotto experience without disadvantaging our trusted partners and allows visitors to support their favorite Craviotto dealer. For special or custom orders, we’ll continue to process those through the appropriate dealer of the customer’s choice.

In addition to the showroom, The Craviotto Experience will serve as a creative content hub, producing exclusive videos, product spotlights, and behind-the-scenes footage for our dealers, website, and social media channels.

Because the showroom is located within our factory facility, guests will also have the unique opportunity to tour the workshop and witness firsthand how Craviotto drums are crafted — where the craftsmanship and “magic” truly come to life.

We’ve envisioned this initiative for quite some time, and we’re thrilled to see it finally coming together. Stay tuned for details on our Grand Opening Celebration, complete with factory tours, live demonstrations, food trucks, and more.

Thank you for your continued enthusiasm and support — we can’t wait to welcome you to The Craviotto Experience in Nashville!

I’m excited to announce that the Craviotto Drum Company is a participant in the rebirth of Slingerland, one of the truly great American drum companies.

The good folks at DW acquired Slingerland from Gibson, and are committed to bringing this world class brand back in full force. The initial product is the world famous Radio King snare drum, which has been reproduced with meticulous attention to detail and is exquisite in every way.

One of the hallmark features of the Radio King was the steam bent solid maple shells. The DW/Slingerland team asked us to produce the solid shells, and we were thrilled to do so.

Johnny Craviotto would be very pleased to see his shells on these new Radio King snare drums, especially since the Radio King was an inspiration to him.

Introducing Craviotto proprietary rims

We are pleased to announce that our new proprietary snare drum and tom rims are now available. These rims harken back to the fine vintage rims of the past but with modern updates. Our rim is a double flange style with a 2.8 mm thickness. The thicker rim eliminates the “stick chopper” effect commonly associated with the thinner 50s rims, yet produces a very pronounced rim shot and a fat “cross stick”.

When designing this rim, we also wanted a more graceful look. On common rims today, there is a long flat spot at the top of the rim where the top of the tension rod sits. Our rim provides a more elegant look that is reminiscent of the finest vintage rims of the past.

These rims will be standard equipment on all Craviotto snare drums and toms, and they are a perfect complement to the superb quality solid shells that Johnny created. Of course, triple flange rims and die-cast rims can be ordered as an option
